Teaching children how to regulate and control their emotions.

I am a New Zealand trained primary school teacher with a passion for helping children learn and grow. I am trained in the Pause Breathe Smile program and children's yoga, I have classroom experience in all levels. Yoga

Children's yoga is enjoyable, creative, and includes breathing exercises, games and stories.

Yoga helps children build important skills in a relaxed, non-competitive environment. It can reduce stress and support healthy physical, emotional, and thinking skills. Children can have fun, relax, and grow stronger, more coordinated, flexible, and balanced. Yoga also boosts body awareness, focus, and confidence.

Mindfulness

Mindfulness helps children to build awareness, develop focused attention and to better cope with the normal ups and downs of life.

Mindfulness has been proven to improve academic performance by:

  • Helping students transfer what they've learned to new situations

  • Thinking more creatively independently

  • Remembering what they've been taught

  • Focusing more and feeling less stressed about tests

This is because mindfulness gives students a greater sense of control over their lives.

As well as Emotional Regulation, other intended goals aim to increase:

  • Emotional literacy

  • Focus and curiosity

  • Kindness to oneself and others

  • Positive connection to others and the natural world
